Designed this series of timeless silhouettes, each crafted from a single massive piece of K9 crystal. As an exploration of material and scale, the shades were cast in custom molds, carefully cooled for 30 days, lathe-carved, and then hand-polished. The raw material is transformed into a physical object that can transmit light, giving the still life its presence while evoking the tools of the scientist.
